party it up.

I had a good time last night and my baked goodies were a hit. It was a potluck of mostly MFA students from Hollins University here in town. It’s an all girls school at the undergraduate level and only the graduate school has guys. I met some really nice people and it was fun. After the party was over, Brittney’s two favorite people in the program, Adam and Michael and I went back to her house where we hung out until after 3:30am. I got tired at like, 11 but it was really fun to be hanging out with people that I didn’t want to go home until I couldn’t handle it anymore. I hope to get to hang out with them again. And man, those whoopie pies were so rich and so good. I’ll always take an excuse to bake yummy things.
I slept in today and went to Mill Mountain Coffee again to write letters, came home, napped in my papasan chair (I miss having a porch/yard to take it out on), and read some of “Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim” by David Sedaris. My roommate came home (the first time I’ve seen her since the day before I moved in) with her boyfriend and we ate some baguette and cheese spread and laughed about things.

I have been really into listening to NPR. On my drive down here last week I programmed all my radio buttons to be all the NPR stations between here and NoVa. I have been listening to lots of podcasts, too of NPR stuff and the Sarah and Vinnie morning show. I haven’t really been into listening to too much music because everything feels like it has such strong memories attached to it that I don’t particularly feel like processing right now. But it will pass.
