Things are going well. The cold has come quickly and I am ever hoping for snow. I’ve woken up to it once so far and it was lovely but fleeting.
Work is going along, same as always, slow and occasionally boring. I don’t mind it so much but I look forward to having some time off.
Thanksgiving will prove to be very low key this year, just me making delicious food for me and one other person. But that it fine, I am looking forward to it. I’m still not totally decided on whether I’m going to run the 5k here in town that morning. I get so discouraged when I run. Some days I’m all about it and it’s not a problem but some days are painful and tiring. We’ll see.
I am going to Minnesota for a week, leaving next Saturday. I am planning on driving the 18 hours more or less straight through, there and back (i.e. I’m too poor to pay for hotels on the way) so it’ll be an adventure. I have had multiple offers of places to stay and many people to try and hang out with so as usual, it will be a busy trip. It’ll actually be hard to be a way from here for so long but I’m sure I’ll have a good time. I am looking forward to gathering the rest of my stuff that Cindy and Lane so generously let me store at their house. I haven’t had all my things in one place in a while and that will be nice.
My roommate has pretty much moved out of our apartment and in with her boyfriend down the street. I’m sad about it, actually. We hardly ever saw each other but it was nice to have her around sometimes. She has taken her bed and our table but has thankfully left the futon (which I have taken to sleeping on) and the pots and pans and such. I have seen her a couple of times and we are going to try and hang out but we’ll see. I’m debating whether I want to buy any furniture since I only have a little over three months left in that apartment and I don’t know exactly where I’ll be after that.
And I think that’s about it. Not too much baking has been going on and unfortunately, no picture taking. I made some Whiskey Ginger cupcakes with chocolate whiskey frosting, Earl Grey tea cupcakes, more Chai Tea Latte cupcakes, and some peanut butter oatmeal cookies with carob chips. I have a weak spot for sweets.
