Days off are my favorite. It was a cold and blustery day. I made hot chocolate and tea and we had improvised chicken chili for dinner. I worked on the Christmas tree skirt for a little while and finished the top. I’m confident I’ll complete it before Christmas :)

There are so many projects I want to start and work on that I have a hard time figuring out what to do next. I started re-tackling a black and white and red quilt I started a couple years ago. I’m looking forward to it being finished, finally, eventually. A queen sized quilt uses 2178 2″ by 3 ½” rectangles. That’s a lot of rectangles and chances are I’ve cut more than that already. Each block uses 18 different fabrics and I wanted to have at least three times that many. It’s a big undertaking but it’ll be a nice quilt.
I’ve done 32 blocks already. (These are stacks and not the final layout.)

I’m slowly but surely making my scrap piles grow. I have three containers:

Scraps, strips, and selvedges.
I hope to make a spiderweb, a coin stack, and a log cabin quilt soon.

I remembered this quilt today and took it out to look it over. I thought I might cut it up (a la disappearing nine patch) and rearrange it a little bit but looking at it on the wall for a while, I think I like it as it is. I think after quilting it I’ll like it better.
