Holiday business!

While it has been way too quiet around here on the blog, it’s definitely not been quiet in our house. Being the procrastinator I am, I have been scrambling the last few days to get ready for the craft faire that was this weekend at my work. I am quite happy to report I had a great time (and actually made some money)! I only had about half the product (quantity and variety) I’d originally hoped and planned to make but that’s alright; I got a lot of compliments on the tea wallets and travel tissue holders. I sold most of the reusable tea bags, two aprons, all my hot pads, and even a baby quilt! I was situated on a card table back in studio space surrounded by my friends and the time passed quickly both days, with a lot of help from Marcus getting me food and drinks and sweetness.

There are talks of possibly doing a mini craft faire every month like the Greensboro First Fridays Indie Market and I would gladly participate. I liked having to build up inventory and would love to add more variety to what I have to offer. Having an Etsy shop feels like an even closer dream now!

I went and got a Christmas tree today and set it up. I didn’t chop down my own like last year because I wasn’t willing to do that much work after such a tiring week but it’s a lovely tree and it’s down in the basement and being enjoyed. Some friends of ours invited us over on Christmas day and it’s nice to know we’ll be able to spend it with them.

There’s not a whole lot else going on right now. I’m reading Les Miserables still and while I’m loving it, it’s a 1500 page book and I’m ready to move on. (I’ve never been one to read more than one book at a time.) We bought a washer and dryer during all the holiday sales and it will be delivered on Tuesday! I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about a purchase before. I’ll be doing laundry at our very own house!

I’ll get some pictures put up before too long of the fair and maybe even a tutorial or two of the things I made. Hope the holiday season is going well for all of you!
