I decided to not just suggest this year and instead, I told Marcus that I wanted potted Gerber daisies, which he so kindly got for me :) It was one of the laziest days I’ve had in a long time (two naps kind of lazy) but Marcus came home early to spend time with me, I didn’t have to feel guilty about getting nothing done, and then our most lovely friends in Vandaveer played a show to round out a lovely night. Marcus opened the show which is always a pleasure, and Mark and Rose (of Vandaveer) are traveling with a fellow named Ferraby Lionheart who played a set that was described by my friend Liz as “drinking eggnog with a lot of nutmeg” (a high compliment). I was treated to a dozen mini fruit tarts with candles (to share, of course) and was serenaded. It is always a pleasure to see them and the fact that it was on my birthday just made it that much better. They stayed with us and we are spending another lazy day together before we all go to Roanoke for another show this evening.
As you probably noticed, I dropped the ball on the 365 project. My trip to Thailand messed it all up and the sluggishness of my computer’s uploading skills put a damper on things. But I’m going to revive it! Starting with the photo I took yesterday (my birthday flowers), I’m going to take a picture every day of my 27th year. At least I’m going to try.
Oh! And today, this post, it is my 400th. That’s a lot of posts! Thank you to everyone who reads my blog, I really appreciate it. And please, bring on the comments! :)
