Many Trips Around the Briar Patch.

It’s not often that I buy a whole collection but when Briar Rose showed up at The Little General, I had to buy a fat quarter bundle.  I knew two things immediately: I was going to jump on the scrappy trip around the world quilt bandwagon and that I’d use a particular vintage sheet for the backing.

IMG_1569I did not like this quilt until it was finished.  It is really busy and I wished I had included some white or coordinating solids so that the eye could rest somewhere, but after many hours of work and the last stitch on the binding sewn, I fell in love.

I quilted it on Lindsay‘s long arm in a four leaf clover pattern with bright yellow thread.  It measures about 58″ by 60″, it’s backed in a super soft combed cotton vintage sheet, bound in a pale yellow solid, labeled, and is on sale at The Little General!
